6 Types Of Products You Can Promote As An Affiliate Blogger

When a blogger starts to think about monetizing their site, this question comes up:

“What kinds of products or services should I promote?”

Well, that will depend on your niche, of course.

The short answer is that you must introduce your audience to products and services that they may need or want.

Although the best things to promote are those that meet needs, solve issues, or evoke an emotion in your customers (such as nostalgia or laughter).

Yes, things that people want just for the sake of wanting them, are also good.

But if you want your site to take off with sales, concentrate on the items described above that meet needs.

Other “rules of thumb” to follow include keeping with items that you have personally tested or used.

Other criteria include effectiveness, coming from reputable brands, and being evergreen.

Of course, if your site has a seasonal focus, then that last point would not apply.

Now let’s talk about particular product categories.

Services with Recurring Commissions

Because I want you to go find as many of these as you can, I’m listing this first.

It’s fantastic to be an affiliate for products that offer recurring commissions because you only need to sell the product once to start receiving payments repeatedly.

This is the closest thing to passive income you can find.

Now, depending on your niche, you should be able to find these types of products.

For the majority of niches, you should have at least a few possibilities.

You can have many of them working for you at once if your niche has a lot of options.

Imagine receiving payments each month from three, four, five, or more of these programs.

The ideal alternative for this is a service because, compared to other recurring products, customers are more likely to pay for services over an extended period of time.

Make a list of all the services you believe your site visitors or customers in your niche would use.

It would be good if you spent a few days on this and wrote down everything you could think of.

You can always mark them out if they end up not being something you want to promote.

When you have a list of the services you want to promote on your blog, start looking for affiliate programs for them.

Go to Google and put this in the search box: “your niche + service”.

(Make sure to use the quotation marks also in the box.)

Membership Sites

Not all membership sites offer recurring commissions, but a lot do.

Again, your niche will determine whether this is even a possibility for you, but you can uncover these by performing a fast Google search for “your niche + membership” or “your niche + membership site.”

Once you’ve located them, check to see if you can join any affiliate programs they may have.

Simply ask the site’s owner if you can’t see whether or not they do have an affiliate program attached to their membership.

In order to create several sources of recurring revenue, locate as many of these as you can and begin marketing them.

Digital products

Digital products tend to offer the highest commission rate.

Anywhere from about 30% to 100% of the sale in most niches.

I guess that’s why I like promoting these the best.

Software, ebooks, courses, printables, and other downloadable goods are examples of digital products.

Once more, go to Google and begin looking for digital products in your niche.

Look up each of the product categories I just listed, and then check to see if any of them offer affiliate programs.

You can find a ton of these kinds of things to advertise as an affiliate for many categories.

Books

Many individuals still prefer to read from physical books that they can hold in their hands, even in the digital world.

(My Mom is one of them. I, on the other hand, really, really, like my Kindle. 🙂 )

Check to see if there is a book you can advertise about a subject you are writing about on your blog.

Going to Amazon and just conducting a topic search can accomplish this.

Then simply take your Amazon Associates link for it and insert it as a recommendation for additional reading in the blogs you are writing.

This is a terrific strategy for hot topics you want to write about but can’t seem to locate a product to promote and earn affiliate commissions with.

Physical Products

Since there are so many physical products available and so many affiliate networks for them, this is a rather broad product category.

You should only advertise physical goods that you have actually used, loved, or that have otherwise benefited you.

There is no reason to simply advertise a tangible product for the sake of doing so, especially because there are so many alternatives available.

Although it’s not necessary, you will undoubtedly earn more money by endorsing goods you have personally used and enjoyed.

You may now search for actual products on a number of affiliate marketplaces.

Sites like ShareASale, CJ Affiliate, and the well-known Amazon Associates program are a few examples.

You may find a ton of possibilities by conducting a quick search on these or even go to Google, of course. 🙂

Food

We all eat food, and the majority of us enjoy doing so, which makes this a good type of product to sell.

There are many companies today that offer cooked food delivered to your door or food boxes with everything you need to cook with shipped straight to your door.

There are also specialty food boxes as well as grocery boxes.

Even if you’re not in the food niche, you still might be able to work this in your niche, somehow.

So there you have it!

As an affiliate blogger, you can promote six distinct sorts of items.

Because of the type of niche you’re in, not every product type will be available to you.

Keep on the lookout for various product types that you can promote on your blog.

Remember each affiliate product in like having a different income stream.
